My 2nd. great maternal grandmother was Mary “May” (Haupert) Palen.
She emigrated from Luxembourg in 1854 to Ellis Island, New York City, New York at the age of 9 with her father, Frank Haupert.
They resided in Caledonia, Houston County, Minnesota. Leopold was a farmer and May was a homemaker, and they had fifteen children according to Family records.
The 1880 U. S. Census for Caledonia, Minnesota, showed her father, Frank Haupert, a widower, and retired farmer, residing with them according to PALEN family records.

Daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Haupert (mothers name unknown) of Luxembourg.
