My paternal grandmother, was Elizabeth Annie “Bessie” Mazac. She married Charles “Charlie” F. Frederick on 12 October 12, 1914 at the St. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Granger, Williamson County, Texas. They were hard working, farmers, who never lived off others, but worked and made their own way. They worked for everything that they had which wasn’t much materially. They lived for their families. Moravia and Bohemia are now Czechoslovakia. The Moravians dream was to own their own land. In Moravia, there was little chance of that. My Grandfather emigrated here at the age of 16, and lived a hard life. He received his U.S Citizenship by serving in the Czech-Slovak division of the U.S. Army in World War I in France.
